A NEW LIFE FOR EVERYDAY WASTE

Materials,
rediscovered.

The next chapter for the resources we throw away.

ReFind is developing facilities that recover valuable materials and prepare industrial fuel from the waste left after everyday recycling.

01 / HOW IT WORKS

Turning waste into
valuable products.

ReFind complements curbside recycling. We focus on the mixed residual waste that would otherwise be sent to a landfill or waste incinerator.

Conceptual five-stage resource recovery process: receive and prepare waste; dry the waste; recover metals, glass, and SRF biomass energy; recover plastics; bale, store and ship. Thermal air and odor treatment, closed reception doors, a small refuse truck, and an electric bale-loading truck are shown.ILLUSTRATIVE CONCEPT

Follow the recovery process

A walkthrough with Stephen Johnson, founder & CEO of ReFind 5:04

The final configuration reflects local waste composition, environmental requirements and the needs of industrial buyers.

02 / RECOVERED PRODUCTS

Useful materials.
Real industrial needs.

We are developing future supply relationships with buyers who can put recovered resources back to work. Keeping local resources in the local economy.

FUTURE SUPPLY / IN DEVELOPMENT

Plastics with a next purpose.

Planned streams include PET, HDPE and mixed polyolefins, recovered through sorting and cleaning for suitable mechanical and advanced recycling markets.

LET’S DEFINE WHAT YOU NEED
  • Polymer composition & purity
  • Moisture & contamination limits
  • Preparation & delivery form

Your input now can help us refine the process to meet your product specifications.

03 / FOR COMMUNITIES

Local infrastructure.
Long-term value.

A better destination for waste.
A more predictable path for communities.

Our proposed partnership brings municipal land and waste supply together with private capital. ReFind finances, builds, owns and operates the facility, with agreements tailored to each community.

Your questions, answered

OUR DESIGN TARGET

90%+

Diversion from landfill
or waste incineration.

Through material recovery, industrial fuel production and evaporated water.

01

Greater cost predictability

Long-term processing agreements with an agreed inflation formula can reduce exposure to further escalations in regional disposal cost, and exposure to environmental and climate performance liabilities.

02

Investment close to home

Private capital supports local infrastructure, employment, purchasing and resource processing.

03

Less dependence on disposal

Recovering more useful material reduces reliance on distant landfills and conventional waste incineration.

DESIGNED TO BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR

Good questions.
Open conversations.

Community priorities belong in the conversation from the beginning.

Does this replace curbside recycling?

No. ReFind complements source-separated recycling by recovering additional value from the mixed waste that remains.

How are odors and dust managed?

Our plants combine enclosed receiving and processing, negative air pressure, controlled air movement, and powerful treatment systems that protect the community by eliminating odors and harmful emissions.

What about trucks and noise?

By processing and refining waste locally, we greatly reduce the volumes transported long distances for disposal, and make the recovered commodities suitable for transport by rail, even in very dense urban areas. We also plan to employ a fully electric truck fleet, protecting our neighbors by reducing noise and emissions impacts, while doing essential work that the community needs.

How will water be protected?

Our process is explicitly designed to generate no liquid discharge from the process inside the plant. This prevents the possibility of any harmful substance migrating from the waste into our environment through water.

What happens to the remaining material?

Our process is explicitly designed to maximize recovery of useful materials from the waste stream. There is still a small volume of inert residuals produced. Mostly rocks, dirt, pottery, etc. This is typically not the fraction of waste that generates significant impacts, and we will ensure that it is disposed of safely.

Where are ReFind facilities being developed?

ReFind is focusing on the areas where the need is the greatest. We are advancing opportunities with communities and partners. Particularly in the northeast US. Specific locations will be shared when local planning, stakeholder engagement and commercial readiness reach the appropriate stage.

04 / FOR INVESTORS

Build the infrastructure
behind the circular economy.

Essential municipal services.
Recovered resources with industrial value.

01 / THE BUSINESS

Two sources of value

Waste-processing fees and sales of recovered materials and fuel support the proposed business model.

02 / THE STAGE

Development capital matters now

We are advancing municipal partnerships, engineering and commercial relationships toward construction.

03 / THE PARTNER

Help move projects forward

We welcome investors comfortable supporting early development while agreements and project approvals progress.
